New York Recording Artist Swan Responds To Japan Tsunami and Earthquake
/UCWE/ - New York native recording artist Swan is no stranger to putting his talent to good use in order to raise awareness and funds for various organizations supporting the relief of countries impacted by natural disasters.
This comes from his personal experiences in life which impacted his dramatically. On September 11, 2001 a good number of his immediate family worked in or within a block radius of the World Trade Center when that tragedy occurred. At the time there was no word for hours as to the whereabouts of most of them, fortunately for him they did survive. Shortly after that an American Airlines plane crashed in Belle Harbor Queens, New York destroying his mothers home while she was there, again fortunately for him she survived uninjured.
Recently the world witnesses a devastating earthquake and subsequent tsunami which swept across Japan and the rest of the Pacific leaving a death toll in the thousands and destruction which could be in the billions. The story doesn’t end there as now there is fear of nuclear meltdowns and leakage which could impact not only Japan but the rest of the world.
After getting the news of this disaster Swan, as he did for Haiti recently and in 2005 for Southeast Asia, he felt compelled to do something for Japan. He has made a pledge to donate 100% of the proceeds generated from the sale of his song "The Light" from his new CD "Swan : Self Conversations" to the American Red Cross for the benefit of Tsunami Relief for Japan.
The song can be found on iTunes and can be directly purchased there, alternatively there is a link on his official website www.swanmusic.com which will also take you to iTunes so that you can purchase the song.
"I am a music artist and the only way that I can see myself doing the most good is through my music because at this time we all have to do our part to help," commented Swan.
Swan is also open to participating in Tsunami Relief for Japan concerts whether it be for Linkin Park’s Music Relief or other organizations, please email tsunamirelief@ucwmagazine.comto book Swan for your charitable even for this cause.
